Saturday 2 April 2022

B is for Breath #bloggingfromatoz #NaPoWriMo 2022 #AtoZChallenge

Dear Readers,

It's day 2 of the two April challenges I've jumped into.

Two things to share with you toady:

1) You may want to click on: The prompt to find out the task (optional, of course) set by  #NaPoWriMo. The challenge is to write a poem based on a word featured in a tweet from Haggard Hawks, an account devoted to obscure and interesting English words.

I've picked “greenout,” which means “the relief a person who has worked or lived in a snowy area for a long time feels on seeing something fresh and green for the first time” to write my poem.

2) Also, as the poems I'll be sharing this month are first drafts, I'll be removing them from my site after a couple of days.

Thank you for being here.

Arti

  1. I loved it so much that I almost sweared! I loved the word you chose. I came here for inspiration and I am definitely inspired. I am going to go word hunting and see if I find something to write about. Loved the idea and the flow of the poem.

I might merge the NaPo and AtoZ like you are doing soon. :)

  7. I love how snow changes sound.
So many couples changed during lockdown. Some grew stronger, some broke apart.
    Great poem.

  8. I'm celebrating the greenout! I especially like the images of stalagmites and stalatites - that frozenness that needs to crack for the tender hearts within to re-emerge. Thumbs up Arti. P.S. I think it's a brilliant idea to eventually pull your posts. That feels to me to be such a beautiful balance - sharing through a challenge, and then pulling the work back into your private space and heartto unfold further.

    1. I'm so sorry Arlee. I took the poem off this page as I had put up a 'first draft'. I hope to work on it to make it worthy of magazine submissions--hence:)
